Artsy Neighborhood

Today I decided to document the ever changing face of some of the buildings in my hood, including mine. Everyday I notice something new or something gone in The Artist District in Little Tokyo. It is packed with amazing and oversized art that I really wanted to share. If it wasn't for Wurst Kuche I don't think anyone in the Hollywood area would ever come to visit here. Also, a new gallery popped up not too long ago showing some really interesting works. One weekend evening I was forced to park two whole blocks away from my place and lucky that I did because when I found my parking spot I also found two of my favorite graffiti writers (Ryme and Revok) painting the most colorful and whimsical murals I have seen. I urge everyone to come down and take a look for themselves.

Recent Drawings

I had a request to show some of my own work on my blog. So here it is. These are some charcoal drawings I did during the One Week of Figure Drawing event at Catalyst before I left to London. I was going through some of my art work the other day and came across them and it made me want to go out and buy a pad of newsprint paper and some charcoal. This is one of my favorite mediums because it is so forgiving and sensitive looking at the same time.

Museum Treasures

Since a huge part of my life revolves around art as well as fashion, I chose to start a separate blog to show some of my favorite finds from around the world. Having just come back from London, one of the cultural meccas, I would like to share some of my favorites from museums I visited. I have to note that my family came to visit me on the last day that I was in London and we spent the entire day going to as many museums as possible(3 total). It is always an informative and eye opening experience getting to see art with my father, who is an artist, because he has so much insight and knowledge about art and how to see it. It made for an extremely rich visit.
